Hammerspoon app9/8/2023 I have some translate_ keys set up for certain language pairs for when this doesn’t quite work (I don’t think I’ve ever needed them). Super useful! Usually, Google’s auto-detect feature works fine, so the translate_to_ keys are sufficient. It allows me to select some text and, with a keystroke, translate it to any of three languages using Google Translate. I live in Switzerland, and my German is far from perfect, so the PopupTranslateSelection spoon helps me a lot. Install:andUse("BetterTouchTool", ) Pop-up translation Is there anything out there for me that can play nicely with a DE (no preference as to which)? I've seen stuff like Qtile but there doesn't seem to be a good way to switch between windows. I'd still prefer something closer to Hammerspoon but the closest I could find was Subtle but it seems that its not being developed and I'd still have to set everything up similarly to i3. Hammerspoon media 1 Hammerspoon media 2 Hammerspoon media 3. I would be greatful if anyone has a solution. I have managed to find two seperate ways to switch between app windows but none work across spaces. However it's taking me too much time to set up (I've already wasted too much time testing out various distros, DEs, etc) and I have a lot of work to do. Setup Download the latest release of Hammerspoon and drag it to your /Applications folder Run Hammerspoon. Go to hammerspoon r/hammerspoon by drpoup Help: Switch focus to next app window (across spaces) Hi I have been trying for quite awhile to get this to work. I've played around with i3 and though it lacks a lot of features I miss, it makes up for it with some other features I like (mostly tab stacking). I liked this setup because I can change the ratio of window sizes easily, overlap tiles, still easily switch to programs that wouldn't tile nicely and everything was still totally usable with a mouse. People use it for all sorts of automations, with key remappings and quick window switchers being the most common applications. Hammerspoon is made powerful by a set of extensions that expose specific system functionality to the user. It works as an in-between between Lua (a light-weight, high-level scripting engine), and the operating system. In order to change between windows I use Mod+Space to open up Pentadactyl/Vimperator-style hints for all windows, including ones hidden by others ( Pic, but in the latest version you can set hints to be the first letter of the app rather than random). Hammerspoon is a macOS automation framework that allows you to hook into all sort of OS interfaces using Lua scripts. Hammerspoon is an open-source automation tool. I use Mod+WASD to move the currently selected window in that direction, and Mod+HJKL to resize windows. Con Not free Moom is not free: it costs 9.99. ![]() My setup was essentially a 9 column 2 row grid (I can change these numbers with hotkeys but I pretty much always leave them at 9 and 2). Hammerspoon Version 0.9.97 Powerful automation tool using the Lua scripting engine. Users can set window position and size themselves, allowing for a great way to set up a tiling window experience. ![]() I've been developing in OS X for a while now and I've become very attached to Hammerspoon ( ), but a couple of days ago I decided to switch to Linux.
